Description
What is a hoarding panel?
Steel hoarding panels provide a strong, secure, and private temporary fencing solution for construction/demolition sites, large-scale events, close-off wasteland areas and civil engineering projects. They stop people from accessing areas off limits whilst protecting equipment and materials from theft within its cordon. They can be rapidly installed using weighted feet and couplers, minimizing disruption to the site. By utilizing hoarding panels, you can create a secure, controlled environment, mitigating risks and protecting valuable assets.
What is the thickness of a hoarding panel?
The panels we sell have an approximate thickness of 0.5m.
How long are hoarding panels?
They are approximately 2140mm in length as standard.
How tall is a hoarding panel?
The panels we sell are classed as 2.0m but have an exact height of 1980mm.
What is a site hoarding?
Site hoardings are temporary structures erected around construction sites to serve multiple purposes. They act as barriers, preventing unauthorized access and shielding construction activities from public view. Additionally, hoardings are crucial in maintaining health and safety standards by protecting workers and the public from flying debris and potential hazards. They also deter vandalism and theft, safeguarding the construction site and surrounding properties.
What are the features of a hoarding fence panel?
Each hoarding panel features vertical tubes running along both sides, which are securely anchored into rubber blocks or high-visibility fence feet. The panel’s unique design incorporates channels at the top and bottom to precisely hold the corrugated steel sheets in place.
What are the key benefits of hoarding panels?
Enhanced privacy and security: Protect your site and sensitive information.
Cost-effective: Affordable solution without compromising safety.
Easy installation: Quick setup without the need for digging.
Versatile: Compatible with other temporary fencing products.
Customisable: The panels can be painted or powder-coated to match your branding or preferences.
Secure perimeter: They create a strong, continuous barrier.
What is the difference between fencing and hoarding?
Unlike mesh temporary Heras fencing, site hoarding systems utilize solid panels that completely obstruct the view of the construction site or event from the public; this makes them ideal for:
- Securing large-scale construction projects and preventing unauthorized access.
- Protecting renovation sites and minimizing disruption to surrounding areas.
Site hoardings provide a solid barrier that enhances privacy, security, and public safety.
Why is hoarding needed on construction sites?
Construction hoarding prioritises safety for both workers and the public. Preventing unauthorised access significantly reduces the risk of accidents, falls, and injuries. As a protective barrier, it shields against debris and falling objects, further enhancing overall site safety.
What is the purpose of site hoarding?
Hoarding is a temporary steel fence, barrier or wall enclosing a construction site. Its primary purpose is to:
Prevent unauthorised access: Keep people out of the construction zone.
Contain debris and dust: Shield the public from construction-related hazards.
Ensure worker safety: Provide a secure working environment for construction personnel.
What finish do your steel hoarding panels come in?
These panels come in a plain galvanised finish as standard, but the panels can be customised by painting, powder coating, branding, or signage.
What materials are required to erect a site hoarding perimeter?
The hoarding panels are typically anchored to the floor with thermoplastic rubber feet and connected using standard or anti-tamper fencing couplers. Various additional accessories are available to create a customised perimeter tailored to your specific needs, including stabilisers, windbreaker systems, concrete blocks, anti-lift and trip devices, and vehicle and pedestrian gates.
How are hoarding panels installed?
All you need to do is place the panels where they are required into the fencing feet and then connect each panel to each other using standard or anti-tamper fence couplers. Two couplers per connection are recommended, one near the top of the panel and another near the bottom, to ensure the system is well connected.
Do you offer a hoarding panel installation service?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer an installation service; we only sell the equipment needed to erect a hoarding perimeter.
What is a wind load calculation for hoarding panels?
A wind load calculation for hoarding panels is a structural engineering assessment determining the maximum wind forces a hoarding structure may experience. This calculation is crucial for ensuring the safety and stability of the hoarding, especially in windy areas.
The calculation process typically involves:
Determining the design for wind pressure: Using meteorological data and building codes to calculate the anticipated wind load.
Calculating the wind forces on the hoarding: Applying the design wind pressure to the hoarding’s surface area, considering wind direction and exposure factors.
Analysing the structural integrity of the hoarding: Assessing the ability of the hoarding’s frame and panels to withstand the calculated wind forces.
Designing appropriate foundations and fixings: Ensuring the hoarding is securely anchored to the ground to resist wind loads.
