Scaffold gravlock girder beam clamps

Purchase brand-new scaffold Gravlock girder beam clamps from our online shop. These fittings facilitate the connection of scaffolding tubes to steel “I” beams and are beneficial for steel warehouse construction, where access and safety handrails are required. They allow for the convenient installation of scaffold tube handrails directly onto the beams of a steel frame.

Installing handrails onto steel beam girders requires two clamps: one for each flange or two clamps for every upright tube that needs installing. This clamp is only compatible with I-beams up to 44mm in thickness and has a tightening torque of 54Nm. They can also be referred to as beam clamps, SK fittings, or girder couplers. The girder clamps are compatible with our 48.3mm scaffold poles and range of scaffolding fittings and connectors.

*Please be aware that this fitting must be used in pairs to ensure proper installation and support. Please order accordingly.

Description

What is a scaffold girder clamp?

A Gravlock girder clamp is a type of fitting used to connect scaffold tubes to steel I-beam girders; they connect the scaffold tube to a parallel beam at a 90-degree angle. When erecting steel structures, a scaffold handrail may need to be installed around the roof to continue the build, and this fitting enables the handrails to be installed directly onto the beams.

Purpose: Securely connects scaffold tubes to I-beam girders, a critical component in scaffolding systems.

Appearance: Typically steel, often shaped like a “U” with a threaded section.

Usage: They should always be used in pairs, with one clamp on the top flange and the other on the bottom.

Safety: Gravlock girder clamps play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of scaffolding handrails around steel structures.

Versatility: They are adaptable to various girder sizes and are widely used in construction, industrial, and maintenance settings.

Gravlock girder clamps typically weigh around 1.5kg.

Our gravlock girder fittings are manufactured from high-quality galvanised steel.

Gravlock girder clamps are designed to accommodate standard scaffold tubes that have a diameter of 48.3mm.

Clamping: The clamp is tightened around the I-beam flange using a wrench or spanner; this creates a secure grip against the steel, preventing the scaffold tube from slipping or dislodging.

Tube connection: The scaffold tube is inserted through both girder clamps, effectively connecting it to the steel.

First, position the clamp securely on the “I” beam, ensuring the beam’s thickness does not surpass 44mm. Then, tighten the top bolt using a spanner. Once both clamps are installed, insert the steel scaffold tube through both and firmly tighten.

For safety, scaffolding girder clamps have a 30kN safe working load when hanging. The “resist slip-through” for two couplers when attached to an I beam is 6.1kN, which can handle suspended loads of up to 15kN.

They comply with Australian standards AS1576.2:1991.
